-Delaunay
-Delaunay
In 1874, thirty artists held an exhibit in photographer Paul Nadar's studio. They were immediately dubbed the "Impressionists," by critics. As the first avant garde group of artists, they shared the focus of fleeting moments in everyday life. In order to capture these transient moments, Impressionists painted quickly, using thick applications of paint in quick, short brushstrokes.
